[Translation] 1582

Song: KAT-TUN (Kamenashi Kazuya) - 1582
Album: Break the records - by you & for you-
Release date: 2009.04.29
Notes: This was a cooperate effort between yours truly, springswan, Neo onigiri_lolita and Neo's awesome friend. :3

As always, this was translated for fun and we don't guarantee it to be 100% accurate.

Edit again: Updated the kanji to match the album booklet. Will recheck and update accordingly when I get my hands on my own copy of the booklet. Kanji has been corrected and the translation edited. Someone's definitely dying in this song. Also, do check out the footnotes. :)

Edit 9/7/2012: Minor translation changes.

1582 - ENGLISH

I'm being controlled all the way to my fingertips
Becoming insanely numb
Inside my head I'm breaking down
Where am I now and why?
The light before my eyes disappears
Permanent sleep, even death

Tempting complaints
Those scarlet lips

The pounding of my numbing heart becomes disrupted
Stain yourself by drowning in that blood

Eyes facing neverending lands [1]
What do they reflect?
Please, please hold me with those hands

As the hands of the clock overlap
I contemplate my inner ways
I touch my hands to my chest and wish, with love
That I will never wake up

Even this heart littered with wounds
Is healed by watching you
It's not about desire
Even though I know it happens unconsciously

The drug that heals my wounds feels good [2]
Tomorrow I can go somewhere
Do you hate that?

Stain yourself by drowning in that blood

The dream and scattered stars
Which I saw with you day after day
I touch my hands to my chest and wish
That I please, please won't wake up

What is this tenderness?
It changes colour every second
For a long, long time
hold me with those hands, with love

(Tempting complaints
Heal the wound)

Eyes facing neverending lands [1]
What do they reflect?
Please, please hold me with those hands

As the hands of the clock overlap
I contemplate my inner ways
I touch my hands to my chest and wish
That I will never wake up

The dream and scattered stars
Which I saw with you day after day
I touch my hands to my chest and wish
That I please, please won't wake up

What is this tenderness?
It changes colour every second
Forever and ever hold me with those hands, with love

Footnotes, thoughts:
[1]. Lit. "(eyes facing/heading toward) the place I have not yet accomplished to see". We took this line as referring to the place you go to when you die. People with near-death experiences have spoken of seeing/being in fields that go on as far as the eye can see.
[2]. Death is the cure to the wounds. As he lays dying, the pain fades away and it feels good.
--- OR, if you're perverted, this line has something to do with the licking, sucking and panting sounds in the background, which would lead right back to 'tempting complaints' (if you take that as groans, moans), red lips, numbing hearts becoming disrupted, and scattering stars. Actually, I think I like this theory...... *grin*

One more thing I want to point out: I don't know if the song is about Nobunaga and/or Ranmaru or whatever you want to connect to 1582. But there are several unusual kanji and words in this song. This and the general feel of the lyrics does lead to think it's set in the past. To name a few:
- "Watakushi" is the most polite form of referring to oneself, reserved for speaking to highly respected people.
- The kanji for "hitomi" (瞳) was used for the reading of "me" (eye).
- Verbs terminated by "nu" (ぬ) which is an Archaic informal negative ("he hath", "he didst", etc)
- "izuko" (何処) is an out-dated reading (normal: "doko")
- An out-dated kanji (朱) was used for the reading of "aka" (red)

1582 - KANJI
